So after recently installing a baja designs kit on my DR-Z and making it mostly legal, I found out how fun it is cruising around town on two wheels. I started originally looking for a cheap older cruiser but quickly found this site and well...two weeks later I was approved for a loan and all lined up to get a bone stock 05 SV from a dealership a couple hundred miles away. Long story short the bike was sold while the dealer was waiting on a fax from my lender. Later the same day I found an 05 with less miles and a couple of mods I planned on doing anyway - Yosh pipe, fender elim, Pro Taper bars etc. Well here she is http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/7083/dsc01550ewb.jpg

And after installing bar-end mirrors so I can actually see what is behind me and a set of Pilot Powers.

I nearly ended up with a yellow SV. I watched it on Craigslist for a month this winter and when I finally decided to pull the trigger, someone else snagged it.

Yours looks nice. The PP's are great, you'll love 'em.

Thanks guys, this forum was one of the main reasons I got this bike. I lurked here for a week or two and saw how helpful everyone is. The amount of info on this site is staggering.

Been working on both bikes all day since it has been raining. Chopped the brake and clutch levers on the SV and dipped them in that plastidip stuff, after 4 coats I finally like how they are turning out. Also removed the SV650 stickers on the rear. Picked up a Bell Tank Bag for 20 bucks at Walmart, threw 5 hardback books in there and went for a little ride, didn't seem to move at all.

Painted the plastics on the DR with Krylon "Fusion" spray paint, and also removed the muffler and mid pipe and painted with flat black bbq paint. Finally got around to replacing my extremely bent handlebars.

Will post pics tomorrow.

This forum is one of the main reasons why I bought my current SV after selling my first!

Tip: Read the TPS and eTRE links in my tag!

Nice man, looks like the P.O did some good stuff.

Now just get the suspension sorted and you'll be all good.
