Interesting. I didn't know that. Regardless of whether it's bad for the trigger or not, I'd NEVER have my finger on the trigger while racking the slide. Then again, I don't shoot competitively...Did you know that a GM (1911) with target trigger job should be racked with the trigger depressed? That way the disconnector takes all the load of the hammer as the slide returns and then gently drops the hammer to the sear when the trigger is released. VERY common on old Match pistols to do this. And yes....Range Officers go insane if you try doing this now a days.![]()
