Meet Koda

He was just rescued from a shelter earlier this week. We went all the way to Lynchburg to get him.

Koda is 7 months old and is almost as tall as Yuki.
She was being a little b1tchy to him at first, but now they are getting along great.

He is super affectionate and lovable. Has no training whatsoever, but proving to be very smart (and stubborn!) as all Akitas are..

Seems we will have our hands full for a while ;)

I know.. so generous of her...

They are slowly making progress though.

At first she would bite him, if he came over to get attention

Hopefully he is trained well enough to come out with us..
We will see as the time approaches..
You and John are good at this. I am sure you can swing it. After all. You have 3 months.

That's what I am hoping ;)
I totally misread the name the first time, lol. Thought it was Yoda.

Koda is big but looks like things are progressing well. Hopefully he will pick up from Yuki on the manners.
I knew from the title before I even saw the author that you and John must have gotten a new Akita. :p

All I can think of is garbage bags filled with hair.

It's not that bad actually.. blowing the undercoat twice a year for about 6 weeks at a time.. it could be worse ;D

There's a joke there... somewhere....
Hooo boy! Double Trouble ... are you gonna have your hands full for the next year or so!

nal_sv just identified my ***** as a Mountain Cur ... never knew there was such a breed.

Went on the Google and there she was ...

We get lots of compliments on her ... she is still a handful to train. She is still in her own little world and we are trying to draw her out of it. ::)

Congrats on the rescue! May you now have lots of patience and discipline! ;D
What does Koda mean?
There was a cartoon with a bear named Koda.. dog looks like a bear :blob8:
Congrats Looshia... oh and Lootass:p.... good on you two for the rescue.

Wow! Just did a little reading on yours, sounds like a handful. Patience to you as well, my friend.

This is our 3rd akita, so at this point we know what we are in for ;D
I grew up training dogs (my mom bread Great Danes), and I enjoy a challange ;)
That's kinda like all wimminz on the planet......
+1 to that!
LOL your older dog is named Yuki? So is mine. He's another rescue.

3 year old Samoyed

I have a 2 and 3 year old and he is the most patient babysitter I've ever met.

Nice looking dogs, best of luck to you.
