What's up! Today I was trying to remove the magneto/flywheel from my 2000 Sv650. Can't find much help so I rented a pulley gear puller thinking it would easily take it off. Well it did, except for the part still mounted to the crankshaft. (See pictures) I doubt I can piece it back together where I'm at. I was wondering, could I retrofit a newer sv flywheel and just swap out the stator? Please help me!

I haven't done it on an SV, but if all the other bikes I did do it on are any indication, you need to get a bolt to fit the threads in the center and screw it in, popping off the rotor that way.

Your rotor looks pooched. It could probably be pressed in, but personally I would not trust it to stay together.

Parts search tells me the rotor is common to 1999-2002 SV and nothing else.

I don't know about swapping both rotor and stator - someone more knowledgeable might chime in.

Thanks, hopefully I can find someone in the forum that has a spare magneto I can purchase.
