First off, Hello! Newbie here. Recently purchased a 1999 sv650 nekkit. I bought a Targa front fairing for it off eBay. It did not come with any brackets or screws etc... (guy won't email me back either) Finally found one for sale online that showed it mounted to a stock naked 99-02 sv w/no modifications. Mine appears to be stock. It has handlebars ??(other posts say they had stock clip-ons on thier sv) Also has the rounded speedo w/the tach on the left corner.I customize cars and trucks. This is a totally different ballgame. I don't want to put some flimsy stuff on there that'll fly off while im going down the road. Would anyone have a solution for me? I'm open for suggestions.

Welcome! :hello:

If you can, post a pic of your new sweetheart. A visual helps, at least me, find a path in direction.

My 08 has full fairings, and have had them off and back on without issue...relatively little bolting on, but good foam strips help the tight fit together and prevent vibrations.

I've only used a Targa fender eliminator, and it worked out perfect. Good instructions, parts fit flawless, and inexpensive in comparison to some others.

Check out the For Sale forums further down the list, and you may find an SVer selling theirs at a good price and they will most likely give some good direction, too.

Great group here...welcome, again!

I believe I'm the one you bought the fairing from. I sold a yellow one on ebay recently.
Sorry, but I haven't received any emails from you, through ebay or otherwise, I don't know why.

That fairing came with my bike when I bought it, no brackets, and I never had it mounted. I didn't like the way it looked, so I never looked into mounting it either.

Have you tried contacting Targa?

Even though it's not on their website anymore, I think they still sell a hardware mounting kit for it. Or maybe they could at least send you some pictures of what you need.

I'm assuming you have to have at least the titanium membership to post pics. Keep trying to post pics, but it won't let me. Thanks for your responses. To Blue72beetle: sorry, but I changed email address and must have typed your address wrong. I had a buddy at work that paints cars to paint it to match my bike. So it's been gone awhile. {just got it back} I'll figure something out- I emailed the Targa technical dept. Maybe they'll hit me up. Thanks again

Fireman -

I have that exact fairing on my 01 SV naked. Targa never responded to my inquiry about bracket bolts. I wasn't very diligent about contacting them again. I thought I was missing a couple bolts but didn't need to put the fairing back on. I have the Targa brackets . If you get no reply from Targa, maybe I can email you some pics if that would help...but I would suggest trying to get a hold of Targa first.

Fireman,

I just went back through my PM's as I remember this coming up before. Another member had made a similar post and contacted Targa. He got the following response from Robert at Targa. The email address was: [email protected]

"Yes, that is our fairing. We do have a complete hardware kit (Does not include the windshield screws) Price is $27.40 + 6.50 priority mail shipping anywhere in the U.S. I can send you a PayPal Invoice if you are interested.

Regards,

Robert

Part Number 24-332"

Hope that helps
