Im in a binde here. I can trade my 2009 KLR650 for a 2005 SV1000. It has 16000 miles on it, the front ferring is cracked, and I don't know much more about it. My KLR is newer, 3500 miles on it, and don't think im crazy, but I feel I'm betraying it by trading it for a different kind of bike here. What do you guys think. Is this a good deal?

It doesnt sound like that good a deal to me, unless the SV is in exceptional shape (chain, sprocket, have the valve clearances been looked at?). The KLR is a very good bike for general riding. Not as good on the highway, but a lot better on dirt roads, and aces around town.

There are a few SV1000s's for sale in my area for $4500 or less. I'd hope you could get that much and more for your new KLR650. Even though your bike may be more valuable, this economy changes everything.
