I was just at Hinshaw's in Auburn today and sat on one of these (though it was an '08). Nice.

I often consider going exactly that route; SV for fun, Bandit 1200/1250 for travel. Beautiful bike.

Bandit's are great bikes, especially for touring and two up riding. Much better than the SV. Nice looking bike. (Get some snow tires)

My neighbor has an almost identical 1200 Bandit. His has 18k and still runs great.

I've always wanted a Bandit 1200s for two up riding with my wife. I've even looked at a few but am saving my pennies for a Street Triple.
Enjoy it. I know I would.
