I noticed in another thread that Suzanne had one. I've got one :BangHead: and I just wanted to do a quick survey to see who has the same problems.
1. Lockups
2. Dropped calls
3. 3G network non-existent
4. This one was strange. I'm in the middle of the call and the message comes on saying I've dialed a number that is not in service...In the MIDDLE of the call!
5. Also, I've already swapped the phone once at the Apple store due to a bad accelerometer.

Discuss.

My wife has one but it's not the newer 3G model. It's one of the original older ones. She loves it and has had zero issues with it since new, which was over a year ago.

I have a 3g 8gb iphone. No dropped calls.

lockups only when I've run out of memory. Download an app called "Free Memory". The app will allow to close processes that aren't necessary to open up memory. Since I've downloaded this app and clear the memory once a day, I don't get lockups anymore and the phone as a whole runs much faster. I think it's $0.99.

I get 3g everywhere i'm supposed to where i live, never had the wierd message in the middle of a call.

Sorry about your bad luck, I've had nothing but good to say about mine.

I have zero issues with mine, except I don't have 3G where I live and when I go to Columbus, I don't bother checking cause it 1)wears the battery down faster. 2) normally is not with me since I am with Zach and I don't want to be attached to mine phone. Other than that, I totally love my iPhone very very much!

I bought the 16gb 3G in October. Since then it has dropped a call once (yes I mean 1 time). It has never locked up (not sure what your saying there). Occasionally I can not get a 3G network, like any cell phone some places I can't get service. The last time this happened I was in northern Vermont on my way home from Jay Peak. I wasn't surprised.

On the down side it did take a crap on me at one point. I had to call a service tech, go on line, & have them walk me through re-loading the soft wear from recovery mode. It wasn't that big a deal & it's worked fine since. Like any Apple it seems when they bail your SOL. I love it by the way.

I've got the same one. I'll download that memory app. It seems like I heard about that before. There are just too many apps to keep up with that I'd like to try. Don't get me wrong, It's only occassional stuff but the phone did have a tendency to lockup. When it does this it freezes, just like any other computer, and I have to hold down the power and home buttons for a few seconds to get it to shutdown.

I have one, but it's not the new 3G model. 3G towers are being upgraded slowly. San Diego finally finished it in December or so, and 3G users rejoiced.

I have had no problems at all excluding some downloaded apps with memory leaks, which is not the fault of the OS.

I prefer the iStat app for freeing memory and looking at my iPhone load and other statistics.
