Well my buddies 2003 naked blew over in some high wind a while ago and somehow managed to break off the starter switch...no idea how that happened by the way. He recently went out and tried starting it just by placing the thumb switch where it would normally and nothing happened. Assuming everything else is kosher, just the metal on metal contact of the switch should turn over the engine correct?? I realize the clutch safety switch, tip over sensor etc might be involved but we are just trying to eliminate possible reasons there is no ignition. All help would be appreciated :).

will it start by pushing and snicking it into gear ??

if it does Bump start then the switch is knackered .

if it wont you will most likely have to delve in with a multimeter and check out the switches fuses etc etc

let me translate.

try pushing it and poping it into gear to see if that wil start it.

if it starts that way the switch is broken.

if it wont you will most likely have to check it with a multimeter and check out the switches and fuses etc.

Well we just went out and tried again after going over all the safety switches, and for whatever reason it kicked over. So either a knackered contact earlier or odd luck ;D. Thanks again for the responses!
