Finally got my dream bike! 2000 SV. After getting my feet wet on a Rebel, then a GS500. I bought my dream bike today! Here she is...

Looking forward to 'meeting' the rest of you soon. Hopefully you won't get sick of all the noob questions I'm sure I'll have for you! Oh, and if anyone is in the Asheville, NC area, let me know. Would love to learn the ropes, particularly mechanically, from someone in person. Thanks, Peter ;D

Awsome bike. I too started out on a 250cc. It feels good to finally "graduate" to the SV. You'll have a blast, especially being so close to the dragon. Welcome.
