The other day I was out riding with my dad and it shocked me how little I could hear his horn. I know mine isn't any better, so I'm in the process of replacing it.

I'm looking for something loud and scary. You know, something that makes the loudest, most god-awful racket on the face of the earth. (Maybe not too scary though, I don't want to cause any accidents trying to avoid one). Any suggestions?

Hmmm, find one that sounds like Celine Dion? ;) :p

Seriously though, this is something I'm going to do as well soon. I think FIAMM makes a two-tone horn that is more like a large car's. Should be a straight awap out.

I think stock is 105db. i have a 125db Fiamm, I think it's the HF-90. It sounds like a Civic horn (loud and high pitched). I would have gone for the trumpet horn to sound a bit manlier but I wasn't sure it would fit.[/list]

I've a Stobel one which I've not yet fitted, 140db at 4 inches, 115 at 2m  It's quite weighty though.

 , a Celine Dion horn would be the ultimate. However, I think a Mariah Carey horn would be worse.

After doing a little research, I've decided to get the Stebel Nautilus. I think this is the one you have, Northwind. How big is it? Is it gonna be hard to fit on the bike? Once you get it on, make sure to let me know how it goes. Thanks.

One other thing: I'm having a heck of a time finding a place to get a Stebel. Anyone know of one?

I got mine from Top Gear in the UK, but they seem prtty pricey on the Fiamm gear... The Nautilus is big-assed and heavy :) it's all self contained (as you know) so no tubing, compressor unit and horns, just a big rocketsnail-looking thing... It weighs almost spot on a pound and a half, and I'd call it 5x4x4 inches.

According to one of the SV650.org guys it will fit on the frame engine mount clamp screw left side, tucked up behind the rad. Haven't actually looked yet to be honest. It only has one bolt to mount it- so I'll be looking at working up a better way to mount it- and it has to go on a certain orientation to make it work properly.
