Just got the bike after a long search. This is my first bike and first time riding. I plan to take the MSF course in a few weeks. Right now I'm tooling around the neighborhood with my new pal. I had looked at the GS500 and was seriously considering it and a beautiful 05 Katana 600 but the second I saw this Sv in the shop, I fell in love. Now she's mine.;D

Thanks you guys. and, yes, I have gear. I look like a frikkin medieval warrior going down the street, and have no desire to be one of the t-shirt and tennis shoes, buell firebolt riders around here. I wonder how much impact protection is offered by a IU ball cap turned backwards? Will they cover that in MSF?
