Is there a way to moderate a tread?

I wanted to make a FAQ but I do not want everyone else to post as they tend to go off topic...

I would welcome relevant information via PM and update the tread as needed.

I try at the Testing Forum but I could not edit my post once I closed the tread.

Is there a way to update a tread, but to stay closed to new replies?
