Befriend someone in your IT dept and bribe them with a bottle of booze. Easier and safer than trying to work around it yourself, imagine your boss's reaction if he got a heads-up from IT that you were installing software to get around security/productivity features that they implemented for him. If I got a notice like that I'd fire someone's ass, and I really hate having to fire people. At that point it has nothing to do with what you were looking at or for how long, it's just that I can't trust you anymore.

Hopefully they are dumbasses, and you can access via http://208.43.63.86 or lastly http://anonymouse.org
Anonymouse is slow, I would keep bugging all friends you know who may be into web design for a potential http proxy.

Edit: Wow, check this out, just don't login to anything!! http://www.proxyfire.net/index.php?pageid=anonymousproxylist

"Proxy Avoidance" Site Blocked - also blocked proxy change in network connections. On our neighbors wireless with my personal laptop now LOL

Just found out he's screening my emails, why would I trust him? Can't even tell my mom I'm coming for dinner without him knowing. Job Change?

All b/c I get get on SVRider LOL

If you've got someone willing to tell you that all of a sudden he's checking your email you have enough of an ally to get a site off of the blocked list. I'm not sure what field you are in but I know that any emails I send through the work system are scanned against keyword lists and about 5% is skimmed by a human, it's just a financial compliance thing and I've had similar rules at every firm I've worked at since college. Not really a big deal in my book and it doesn't stop me from sending personal emails on a corporate account, I just watch my language.

Is he only screening your email or everyone's? Has anything happened recently to change his views on you?

The bottom line is, you're using a company network, since they own it they set the rules. Unless your boss is a complete ******* who gets off on being a voyeur there is probably a good reason for the increased security or else his boss wouldn't have him wasting time on it.

I'm an Engineer at a small company of about 20 people. I took the job b/c of the opportunity to grow financially with it (he's doubled sales in 2 years). He admitted at hire that for now I will be bored but he has projects coming specifically for me to do the designs and management.

He has been screening everyone's emails for a long time - I just didn't know. I honestly think he gets his rocks off reading other people's personal business. He told me by commenting on something that he only could have knew by reading an email to my girlfriend - what a *****, so there's no ally to get any site of a list. I got 2 weeks vacation I was saving for Tail of the Dragon.... gonna burn it up, job hunt, and quit LOL.

In this economy, NEVER quit without something in the pipeline.

Especially not in the engineering field. With so many industries cutting jobs, the market is getting very flooded with very good technical people.
