I have just purchased a 99 sv650. My friend laid it down at slow speed when he slipped on gravel, he then parked it and decided not to ride anymore. the bike then sat for 3 years. it has 3500 miles on it. the damage from the fall is: shift peg, lever and mount torn off frame, tachometer case cracked off (but it still works), front left turn signal gone and some scrapes to gas tank.

My problem is I cant get it running. I have replaced the spark plugs, new battery, new fuel. Here is what happens: with the choke on the bike will fire and run for about 1-2 seconds then die. with the choke off it will not fire at all (doesnt matter throttle position). I have checked the fuel pump and it is working ( i took the fuel line off of the pump which goes to the carbs and then turned over the ignition and it shot out fuel).

what am I missing?
