I'm looking at trading my 05 Ducati 999 in on a SV650SF. The maintenance and cost has gone through the roof. How is the SV650SF for maintenance and riding at low RPMs? That's my main concern. Anyone who has ridden a Duc knows they aren't the most comfortable at low RPMs.

Welcome to SVR.

SV's seem to run forever from what I've read and require a lot less maintenance than the Ducatis.

As for low rpm, it depends on what you mean. The SV is known to have a kind of on/off throttle at low speed in first. It can be awkward. Do some searches or better yet test ride one.

Hi RedDuke999, Welcome to SVR. The SV is a great bike. Did you go and test ride one? Go ride one, you will enjoy it!

Have fun and ride safe!
