Hey guys I have a 2007 SV650, I bought it used from a guy 2 weeks ago. The guy i bought it from already had done a buell headlight swap. However, he has it wired to where both headlights(low and high beams) are on all the time. So at night I can't even take off my brights if passing someone or anything like that.

Basically, I don't have much of an idea of how to go about rewiring it to where i have my high and low beams back. Anyone know how and care to step me through it?

Thanks!

I think the first thing you need to check is to check and see how things are wired. There is a possibility that the switch was jumpered for both high and low beams. You won't know that until you start looking. Tracing wires is not hard. How many wires go to the headlight? How are they connected? There are alot of links to the Buell headlight mod, with some specific to wiring. Dig them up and start from there.

Good luck.

For the High beam to be on all the time there should be a relay running off something thats "hot" all the time when the bike is on like the tail light wire. If my memory serves me correctly the high beam is the yellow wire on second gens, and a red wire on the buell light. the high beam wire for the buell should be attached to the yellow wire from your bike for High/Low separate functions. Find out where it is now, disconnect, then connect to Stock high beam wire.
