Oh yah almost forgot to post my experiences with the sport bike class.

In a nut shell it was boring. The instructors were cool and we had a great time, but the riding portion just didn't do it for me. I continually kept getting stuck behind the sloooooooooow riders. One guy in particular seemed to be more worried about how he looked laying on the tank (at all times) that actually taking a curve at more than 10 mph. I kept riding up his bum, but the instructors did nothing except tell me to mind my distance.

One end of the range was good, but the other had these dips that would dramatically upset the bike and made it extremely difficult to navigate some of the turns. Of course I was the only one on anything other than an I4. The engine braking was a nice touch not having to actually use the brakes when I would enter a turn. I would simply roll out of the throttle a little bit and enter the curve basically with the throttle in its new position and never had to move it until I was exiting the curve. Made for some nice smooth riding.

All in all it was a day off of work, but I think the course does not serve its intended purpose and will not make one bit of difference in the number of incidents/deaths the Navy and Marine Corps experience.

Glad to see that the mods here do not communicate at all. Reminds me of my chain of command.

Ranger basically did the same thing the last time. At least she had the decency to re-start the thread for us.

Oh and we call them FITREPS which is short for fitness reports.

I don't mind them cleaning house, it is just the constant lack of courtesy in which they do it. I mean how hard would it be to make some posts or a global PM as an admin stating that on X day they will be removing old info and if you need something save it.

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the party.

As much as I would love to go for a ride I have work to do tomorrow. Between duty over the weekends and the rain the last two Saturdays I haven't been able to do a lot of wood working. Tomorrow I am hoping to finish the cut outs for the counter tops. It would be a lot easier if I was able to gut the kitchen, but I can't afford to eat out that much.

Hey Mike...I worked on the cable for your gloves today. There was only one thing I was slightly worried about. I had continuity, but there was a lot of resistance in one of the lines. So I split the "Y" adapter in half to get a better look. The solder job they did on the wires was crappy and you had what we call a cold solder joint. I re-flowed all of the solder joints and put it back together as neatly as I could. Obviously it doesn't look like it came from the factory, but it isn't crappy either. All that said I honestly think your problem is somewhere else.

Oh yah about your post count. I noticed it yesterday. Even with your zero posts you still showed up on the home page as the top poster. I just went back and looked and Nexus now has that honor.

I could easily see how it would appear to be a wiring issue. I made up this snazzy picture to show how the wiring is.
Starting from the top. We will call the wire that goes to the switch positive and the wire that passes straight through negative. The wires go down through the switch box. One goes to the switch and the other continues to the Y. The blobs in the "Y" block are where they soldered the wires together. You can see where the wire from one glove block goes to the other glove block. That is a solid wire. This is where you probably thought there was a wiring issue. You won't read the positive in one of the glove boxes and likewise you won't read the negative in the other glove box.

I did notice that one of the male pins is slightly bent so I wonder if that is a design to help keep it plugged in or if there could be an issue. I wouldn't start my troubleshooting at the gloves, but rather where you get the power from.

He secretly had it reset to 0 because he was taking some heat about being a post whore. Don't worry by the end of next week he will once again be the top poster

Well it appears I will be broke for quite a while. I saw the physical therapist yesterday and all she had to say was continue doing working out with my command, but try to add in a little more weight strength training. I am so distraught with the whole situation I wanna puke.

I have even thought about not riding for a while. When I went through the sport bike class last Friday my knee gave out on me during one of the exercises in mid curve. Nothing like having a shooting pain rush through your knee and it basically quitting on you. It caused my leg to go completely limp at which point my foot came off the peg and touched down on the ground. Luckily I can steer with both feet, body and hands so I didn't really skip a beat. Only one other person saw it and that happened to be a guy I work with.

Now on to some Coastie bashing....What the hell is this I heard today. Your Chief's do not stand watches at all, even underway, and they get their own state rooms. Talk about the lap of luxury. There were some Coasties in my firefighting class today from the USCGC Bear so of course all of us Navy folks were talking about them. There was this little Ensign girl who could not stay awake during the classroom portion. I looked over to my Airman (E-3) and asked her if she knew what she had over the Ensign. Of course she replied with a no. I said a promotion. The best part was that we said the sailors creed at the beginning of class. I am sure they were like WTF?

So I get to go talk with my daughters teacher tomorrow. Why you ask? Because she cussed in class today. I can see the look of shock and bewilderment on your face and you ask what did she say. Well it appears my daughter has a real potty mouth. She said the most vile and incomprehensible word....hell. But what would prompt her to say such a disgusting word? Well she really needed to go use the bathroom and her teacher wouldn't let her. She had to go so bad she actually started to cry a bit in class and that caused her to pee her pants just a little bit. When she did that, under her breath, she said hell. To make matters even worse her teacher still didn't let her use the bathroom.

Yah I am going to be the first mutha ***ka in line tomorrow at the school. Her teacher, principal, and I are going to have a one way conversation and I am going to be the one driving that bus. If they want to know what a cuss word is I have a full repretoir of them that will oblige them with.

Right now she has to go to Saturday school because of this. Needless to say she won't be going and her teacher will be giving my daughter an apology in front of me and the entire class.

Now you all know why my job is so tough...

Hey Harsh, did you even give the teacher the chance to explain what really happened? You know sometimes when kids are in trouble they tend to distort the truth just a little. Now don't get me wrong, your daughter might not be one of them but saying you are going up there to cuss the whole school out and make the teacher do all kinds of stuff; well that's just a bit over the top don't you think?
This isn't the first incident I have had with the teacher this year. I have been giving her the benefit of the doubt, but at some point one has to stop defending the adult and take the side of the person who cannot defend themselves. Plus she did call today and talked to the wife about the incident and gave her side. As it was relayed to me by my wife it was easy to tell she tried to spin it so she would come out as the "good guy" in all of this. The wife and I are pretty good at reading through all the BS and can spot a liar when we see one.

NO I do not think it is over the top. Do you think she was right not to allow my daughter to use the restroom which ultimately resulted in her peeing her pants. We aren't talking about a 6 year old here. We are talking about a young lady who turns 12 tomorrow.

I have zero patience for those that are supposed to be educating and leading our children. Part of her job is to help me and my wife show her right from wrong and humiliating her in front of her classmates was WAY over the top for her. I completely understand and commend you for coming to the aid of one of your own, but this lady has just gone too far this time and now she will get a little taste of her own medicine. Sure it may cause her to lose some respect her students have for her, but now she truly gets to work for that respect vice just having it given to her because of her position.

So what does a finger look like a couple of days after it gets stuck in a running belt sander?

Yah it sanded right through the nail.

How did this happen you ask? Well Saturday I was doing some wood working. The dog was in the house along with the boy. Well the boy came out to tell me something and so did the dog. When the dog jumped up on me which caused me to lose control of the sander for a moment. That moment was just long enough for my finger to get sucked up into the sander.

You know it doesn't actually hurt that bad. However, you would be amazed at how much you bump your fingers into things during the day. You see the pink bit where my nail would be. That is what is left of the nail. It is only gooey because I put some neosporin on it before I wrapped it up this afternoon. We had a general quarters drill and I had to put on my firefighting flash gear. Yah that didn't feel good cramming my finger into some gloves.

At least we are having nasty weather this week so I don't feel too bad about not riding. Now next week might be a completely different story.

Yah I saw one of those photos...need more though
