I have an 04/05 GSXR 1000 front end close to me. If I bought that, would I be able to fit the upper from a 04/05 GSXR 600/750 triple on it? After that, it should bolt on just as well as a whole 04/05 600/750 front end to my 2008 SV650S, correct?

04/05 are two different generations of GSXR1000.

04/05 600/750 top triple won't fit on either, because the stem hole size is 25mm vs 28mm on both 03/04 and 05/06 1000. the offset is also different on 03/04 1000 vs 04/05 600/750.

03/04 GSXR1000 has the steering lock in the right place for a 2nd gen, 05/06 has it centered which results in steering lock with the bars centered

all of those generations are a little on the short side for the SV. your best option is 06+ 600/750. note that there are some significant changes after 06, but they're all good options: 08 got separate high/low speed compression damping, 11 got a smaller axle, there are various different rotor bolt patterns, etc

I noticed a pool of oil on the ground one day and traced it up the fork leg to the top of the dust seal. Uh oh... time for new seals. Leaky fork seals are a common problem on older SVs.

Does anyone have the actual dimensions of the 2011+ models? Fork permutation matrices only go up to 06/07 GSXR. I'm looking to use the 04/05 top triple tree (bored to 28mm) and I need to know the correct offset. Praying that it's 30mm so that it's compatible with the right side ignition triple.
