Has anyone ever ordered Sonic Springs? I have a set and they are not tapered like the stock springs. Anyone know if they are directional or not? One side has the weight engraved. I PM Rich at sonic springs but he hasnt gotten back to be and was wondering anyone has had experience with them.
I would put the markings at the top for the sole reason of it being easier to see them at a future date, maybe even for a future owner.

You can't see them until forks are apart (cap off and spacer out) at which point it does not matter.
Understand that, but bought a 1G whose current owner knew work had been done, but had never opened the forks himself. It was nice being able to pop the cap off and look in to see the markings rather than getting messy pulling the spring all the way out.

Lot easier on stock forks. Little more work and special tools to separate cap from cartridge on gsxr forks.
Oops! Catching up on so many threads forgot i had gone into the GSXR forks thread. You'd think it would sink in more as I am doing a 05 GSXR 600 fork conversion on mine right now.

I'm in a damper bracket bind myself. Local machine shop wants $400 to set up their machine to replicate nucular's bracket. Not a chance in hell.

I really didn't want to fab up something ghetto, but it might be the only reasonable option.
Used stock 2013 axle and spacers. Everything seems great. Havn't done anything with damper yet. Flipping to top of bottom triple and bolting direct to frame mount works, but seems like I need about 10mm+- more stroke for full travel. May try the 2013 KYB 600 damper, that is electronicly adjusted...which I won't be able to use that...may even go with about a half inch spacer to frame mount insted of 2" factory spacer. Kinda nervous running without one. Brakes are awesome! CBR calipers are sweet. 15mm spacer worked out perfect. Ebayed those, place called Kyle racing out of California, got'm in 3 days. Are even black, but not cheap.

Depending on your speedo set-up, send a PM to Soliton. He can program a controller that will enable damping of the electronically adjusted dampers. $60.

Ok suspension gurus, Im having some issues with my swap. I did the 04-05 GSXR swap. I replaced the springs with a set of 0.80 sonic springs, replaced the oil (5W) and fork and dust seals (not OEM parts) when i put the fork back together and exercised it it seemed to be compressing ok. I mounted it on the bike and took her for a ride and it felt a little off and i figured i needed to tune everything (preload, compression, etc). Now with it on the bike i cant even get the forks to compress at all! I have preload backed out all the way and rebound settings all set to the softest. I am 130 lbs geared up. I filled the forks to 110mm. Any thoughts?

yes the fork tube was all the way down when i measured the air gap. What are you referring to when you say compression adjuster? I talk to Rich from sonic springs and he said you dont use spacers with the sonic spring? I thought they were just a straight swap?

I figured it out....its the dust seals of all things. I got a set of aftermarket ones from All Balls Racing. They are pretty darn tight and were keeping the forks from compressing. I slid them down to check and now the forks compress no problem. Anyone know if there is a way to loosen up the seals or am i going to need to pull them off and use OEM ones?

Ok so i am disassembling my fork tube to get anodized. I got everything off except there are 2 bush guides in the tube (look like big metal spacers). One under the washer that was under the dust seal and then theres one 8-10 inches in from the side that has the fork cap. Anyone know how to get those out?
