Off topic, but does anyone know how disassemble the fork cap of a 04-05 GSXR600? like acutally take out the preload adjuster. I plan on getting my forks anodized and need to get the cap off. Id like to anodize the preload adjuster too to go more with my bikes theme

First remove needle (rebound adjuster), simply keep turning it in until you can push it out.
Than turn preload adjuster in few turns to expose circlip around silver part, remove circlip.
Now hold gold hex (32mm socket) and unscrew silver bottom piece (part with 2 flats for 17mm wrench). Pull it out.
Pull Blue preload adjuster out (o-ring is only thing holding it in once you remove silver part). Piece of plastic with 3 metal pins will fall out by itself at this point.

Silver parts screws in to cap. Blue part screws to that same silver part.

Anyone know the specs for the steering stem/yoke nut used on the 03 GSXR steering stem? like pitch, size, and what other models use the same one?

M24 x 1.5
Pretty much all gsxr's of that generation and earlier, 2nd gen sv, sv1k, tl, 1st gen busa...

The one you have to loosen after you compress the springs to be able to unscrew the rebound adjuster

There is procedure to do it.
Turn jam nut all the way down.
Back out rebound adjuster all the way out, than turn it in for 3.5 turns.
Screw cap on until you feel resistance. Bring jam nut up against cap, hand tight.
Back out rebound adjuster.
Tighten jam nut against cap using wrenches.

and just so we are clear, when you say back out the rebound adjuster you mean turn it all the way toward the H until it stops?

No, toward S until it stops.

so the adjuster should be as far into the preload adjuster as possible and not sticking up above it.

No. It is unscrewing adjuster from preload adjuster. It will stick out.
S is soft and H is hard. You going full soft and than 3.5 turns in.

Got it. Sorry I think I just had a brain fart typed it wrong that is how I had it with it at full soft. Also just to clarify I believe I read that the oil level should be set at 110mm is that correct?

Has anyone ever ordered Sonic Springs? I have a set and they are not tapered like the stock springs. Anyone know if they are directional or not? One side has the weight engraved. I PM Rich at sonic springs but he hasnt gotten back to be and was wondering anyone has had experience with them.

Yes, they are good springs. You can put them in either direction.

Just back it all the way out, it makes it easier.
Preload adjuster has no effect on rebound adjuster.
