I didn't realize it would come with the throttle tube and a grip already on it... did you guys just cut this grip off, and slip the stock grip over it?

This is what I bought:
03 Yamaha YZF-R6R steering handle cable, 5SL-26240-0100 Grip Assy

My best shot with a random hottie would be to leave the helmet on. :? :(

What is the advantage of using this? Also, if one uses this, would I need any other parts if I have an '03 naked? Thanks. :)

1/5 throttle turn compared to 1/4 throttle turn on the sv. basically it gives you more throttle when you turn it

what is a "steering handle cable" and why did you need it?
I thought all you needed was the tube

That is just what yamaha called the part... it is a throttle tube.

yep its just a throttle tube, but comes with the grip as well. I was thinking of going with 2 different grips, for ease of installation if nothing else! I guess I will just pick up the R6 grip for the other side.

Just run a butter knife around the inside if the grip to loosen the glue. I reused me stock SV grip and didn't have to buy a match.

I didn't find it any worse than stock jerkiness wise. Wheelie wise it is much easier now :D :D. Just make sure to remember that if you ride a passenger.

hey how do I get the throttle lines off the plastic? I figured I could grab the lines with some needle nose pliers, but don't want to damage/fray them!

Also, can someone point me to a link showing how to adjust the throttle cable at the carburetor? The repair manual doesn't seem to have it.
