Hello all I finally got my first bike. It is a red 2006 SV650 (naked) with 4600 miles on it. I payed $3900 and it came with full Yosh exhaust, power commander chip and some carbon fiber turn signals. It is clean and I had the dealer go through and double check everything from the list I made (thanks to the buyers checklist on this website) and replace all the fluids etc.

The weather here in Southern Oregon has been crappy and I cant wait for it to clear up and I can go out for a good ride.

Here are some pics, they arent the greatest but they are the best I can do atm.

Congratulations! Nice looking bike. I like the pipe too. Probably sounds nice.

As for the weather, if it makes you feel any better, I am in N. Washington. I have new tires on the way and for that I was rewarded with 5 to 6 inches of new snow!

Congrats, good deal and good on you for making the dealer go through your own checklist! :D

I paid way too much for my '06 SVS last year, it was the height of the motomania with the high gas prices.

JDub I made my own list from reading a post in the FAQ portion of these message boards http://forum.svrider.com/showthread.php?t=78855 and also I took some info from the Tips & Tricks part of the page http://www.svrider.com/tips/maintenance.htm

Even tho I was purchasing my first bike, you can't be intimidated by the sellers "knowledge" of the bike. My rule of thumb was, "If it looked shady or odd in any way I asked them WHY it looked that way." I honestly walked away from 3 other bikes I was looking at because I didn't get an acceptable explanation or answer for the questions I had asked

Thanks for the compliments, I am looking to purchase a Rumble Concepts tail light set up after I snag myself some frame & swingarm sliders. I want to find a picture of the Rumble Concepts tail lights lit up just to make sure I want them before I purchase them.

Awesome choice for your first bike...for any bike that is. I would suggest getting the motoslider package and a rear stand.

Good Choice, you did after all purchased the Fastest color out of the bunch :) You definitely got a good price out of your bike with low millage. Now since you put a good amount in your first bike, make sure you go and buy yourself the best gear available!!! and go and ride the heck out of it once you become comfortable that is :nana:

Congratulations on the bike, and especially about looking around the site to find some help without just blindly asking questions.

Yes, it's the fastest color, just not the fastest shade. It's a great looking bike, may I suggest some Motosliders?
