Here is the first good example I have seen to own a Gladius. It also answers my question as to what it looks like without the fake plastic frame covers. I would put this in the Gladius thread but I thought more people would see it here. I apologize if this has alreadt been posted. I looked and could not find it.
To each his own I guess. My point was more that you can modify it to look less ugly and still have a 650 twin. It is probably still easier to make a Gladius a supermoto than it is to make a DRZ400sm a 650 twin. Besides it is already a given that a DRZ is desireable without modification but what kind of fun would that be?
Now we know what it looks like under the stupid plastic cover! Not bad Suzuki. When you take the cover off, it can no longer be called "gladius" right?
The undertail is ok, and it's nice to finally see what's under the side plastic, but the two biggest design mistakes are still there: the radiator side covers and the headlight.
Other than the color, I can dig it. It's also the first good look we've gotten at what's behind the stupid plastic side covers. That frame actually looks pretty good.
The bike is much improved in the customized version and shows potential, although his/her choice of colors leaves me wondering why he/she bothered. I saw a Gladius up close and personal at the International MC Show in Cleveland. I did not like it. Somehow it just looked cheap to me, as well as having some hideous design flaws, like the rear passenger grab rails. They are the awful, and there is way too much plastic for a bike that isn't faired. It also didn't fit me as well as the SV.
ya the wheels on that busa are lexan centers....front one too. the colors on both are awful...think i puked in my mouth a little. i think the fame on the gladius looks great. don't know why they cover it up on the stock bike. just looks way too over styled
Not my choice of colors but the bike looks very Ducati Hypermotard. I'm betting a few more custom bikes being made and the whole SVR forums will be behind the bike 100%!!
I like it... that color is odd, but the bike is very European looking.
