im looking to upgrade a few things on my bike which is a gladius 650. they are the common upgrades but i just didnt happen to see the specifics on what i wanted to know

suspension:
1. i was wanting to upgrade the front end to gsxr. i was wanting to get a complete setup off ebay such as this.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gsxr-1000-75...ht_5036wt_1077

question is what is best: 600 750 or 1000k forks or are they all the same.
also if i got that ebay item is that all that i would need to switch it over.
any issues fitting or nice easy direct fit on everything? anybody got a link to a good step by step walkthrough of switching it out?

how good is the steering stabilizer thing? never rode a bike with one

2. the rear suspension what is the most suggested? zx1000? direct fit? also any walkthrough links would be great.

do these upgrades lower the bike? id love it if i could get it like 1-2 inches lower

Exhaust
im guessing that even though they are very similar the sv650 exhaust do not fit the gladius. so assuming that, are there any good non race spec full exhausts out there? i looked and havent found anything. do i have to get it remapped with the gpr midpipe and a aftermarket muffler? is that something i can do myself or have to take it to a shop? am i just better off getting a can and calling it quits?

what ive done so far:
tail tidy
bar end mirrors
frame sliders
swingarm sliders
engine crash cage

I did stage 1 upgrades to my wife's 2009. These were all very simple upgrades. This included a free flow airfilter, Yoshimura slip-on and Dobeck EJK tuner. I probably spent 1-2 hours max with this upgrade....the main time was spent learning about the workings of the bike. These are all things a normal person, like me, can do. The next step would be a delete pipe...to remove the catalytic convertor. Removal of that would free up the engine and ditch some weight. I would stronlgly recommend tuning for the bike if you go this route....I don't think the bike would be very happy with the factory settings with a full free flowing exhaust. The stage 1 upgrades for my wife's Gladius are subtle...but I think it runs a little smoother. I noticed huge gains in smoothness for my 1000 V Strom...so maybe you'd see huge gains after a full delete.

Good Luck,

Wayne

something like this good for a air filter?

http://www.compacc.com/p/K-and-N-Air-Filter-Suzuki-Gladius-650-09-10

since i dont think powercommander is made for the gladius how is the EJK tuner working for her?

I guess ill probably try for the gpr midpipe and also probably a yoshi or gpr trioval exhaust to finish it off.

so anybody have anything to say about the gsxr fork replacement?

I have a gsxr750 rear shock on my bike. Make sure it has the 90 degree resevoir.
Doing the rear shock swap will actually raise the bike a bit. If you are looking to lower it, I would recommend lowering links. I do not have them for the Gladius, but i did have them on another bike I had and they worked great.

I have a Leovance delete pipe with a Danmoto slip-on. I bought the Power commander with the autotune upgrade. It is awesome and I noticed a difference and my friend noticed one right away too, on my bike.

I have the K and N filter for the air filter and really like it.

As for the front end it's mostly a straight foward swap. You do have to get the stem from the gladius pressed out and then pressed into the GSXR front end. You will also have to get a spacer made for the upper nut. There are a few people on here who have done it, but I'm not sure where their threads are. I am looking to do that swap this coming winter.

Hey guys new to the forum. Very cool. Having some problems with my 09 sv 660 I just picked up last week took to the shop to do a tune up to it bike got there perfectly so when I pick up I only got 3 blocks away and it shut of on me so I try to start it won't start unless you put key on off position and restart. Then the same thing again. Does any one have any idea on what could be the problem or has this happen b4?

The gsxr shock will actually lower the bike a little if you adjust it all the way down, I actually lifted mine slightly when I did the rear shock and it is perfect for me now. Sooo the shock upgrade might be a good upgrade for you either way. For performance I recommend the GPR decat pipe with a slip on and K&N drop in filter and removing the schnozzle. and then ship out your ecm to get it retuned, I used ECUnleashed and it made a world of difference! with the stock head light on, the bike went from a 127mp to 140-145mph bike on a cold day! what a world of difference!
