Has anyone tried this product on their 2007 SV1000?

Or should I go with a basic TRE setup first and then maybe buy into this product?

I am a new 2007 SV1000s owner coming from a Katana 750 and there is obviously some major differences in the bikes. I like the handling and weight differences. Power seems good but you can never have enough and if installing a TRE is going to help then I am all for it. Also does anyone know if I need to install a TRE and adjust the throttle position sensor? Thanks.

The benifits of a TRE are arguable. Ask a half dozen people, get a half dozen different answers.

You should still check the TPS and do a TB sync. Neither is effected one way or another by a TRE.

I agree with longhair. The TPS is a must, but doing a TRE has mixed reviews.
Since this has selectable ATRE functions (including disabled), I would go for it and then write up a nice review for the rest of us :)

I had one of the GIpros and highly recommend it. It has a larger display than the Acumen ones so it's easy to see. The ATRE is just kinda a added feature. Can't say the TRE thing really did much for my SV. Maybe on a larger bike it would make a difference, but I never really noticed anything special happen with it on.

These guys are correct. The TPS adjust is a must! (now if I can only follow my own advice! ;) ) That is supposed to clean up the nasty throttle we have stock. I have also heard mixed feelings on the TREs. However.....This particular one, I was told directly that it helped clean up the throttle with better responce and mid. Sorry I can't explain better, it has been over a year ago. I do remember it was a 2003 SV1000S. Beautiful copper SV. Here is the manufactures site for the GIpro..... http://www.gi-pro.net/ I have also been considering one of these, but I want to do the TPS adj first. Keep us informed on your progress. I have to get up here WAY more often. Spend too much time on the local riders site! :)
Take care all & C'ya

I am building Plug and Play aTREs for the SV650 and now SV1000.
Only real difference are the factory plugs. Mine doesn't have a gear indicator like the GI Pro but I am offering it in an regular "smart" version and a switched "smart" version. With mine you can get all the of benefits of the GI Pro aTRE, minus te gear indicator, and at 1/5th the cost!!!

I have been using the GIpro (red) on my SV1000 for about 8 months now and love it! No more looking for 7th gear on the motorway and the TRE (although it doesn't make more power for you, contrary to popular belief) allows you to access all the horseys at once regardless of the gear you are in. The beautiful thing is if you don't want that then you can easily turn it off. Worth the money in my opinion. The factory plugs and full installation literature are worth the extra money. To install takes about 20 minutes. I have positioned mine just to the right of the tacho so it is slightly turned into the centre. Doesn't make a difference to veiwing except if the sun is beating down right over your shoulder, and that can be addressed by moving your body!
