I received a gerbing jacket for christmas. It uses 77 watts. I have a 2006 sv650. My question is will the charging system be able to handle it and still keep the battery charged? I don't have any other accessories drawing power. Anyone with experience with these electric clothes?

yes, never had any problems running

gerbings jacket liner 77w
hotgrips 35w
V-1 5w

all at same time, except coming to stop (uning brakelight and or turn signal) when engine was at idle, voltage would drop monentarily, but your ok as soon as you get back to speed

this was with my nekid 99, your 06 has a larger output alternator

i also have a gerbings jacket and hotgrips grip heaters.

only tested it once (end of season) but it was in stop and go traffic and didn't seem to have any issues.

glad to read RandyO's post.
