Hey guys, trying to get the old sv650 restored.

Came across the Gear shift lever. Is this bent or is it mean to be this way?

I don't have an original gear lever on my SV650 1999. I fitted one of these so if I low speed drop the bike there's less chance of damage to the clutch mechanism,

Should be item number 30 in this diagram.

Yours looks fine, according to the drawings.

My first thought was yeah, that's odd, it looks bent, but my next thought was that's a cast part and it would take a lot to bend that little tab that far without breaking it or showing signs it was dragged on the ground. So I'm gonna say normal too.

Mine looks the same way. You're talking the arm where the heim joint is right?

That piece is pretty thick, I would think there would be witness marks on the boot or the bottom of that arm if it did take fall damage.

It's most likely the way it is.

Can confirm, that "bend" you're concerned about is simply for clearance and angle.
Looks clean, make sure you re-install both bolts tight!
