This is how the bike came to me from Alaska three days ago:

It's been amazing riding this bike, the MSF training helped me get ready for this beast of a bike and the bike has in turn treated me kindly for the most part. But I had a bunch of parts sitting around the house, and just so happens they fit this 03' SV650S

Lets start with the small stuff

Pretty easy to throw that in, the tank has already been raised and the bike desnorkled before it ever got here. The stock air filter is tiny as well, so this really opened up the bike.

What a cute nub:

Okay, this is my swing arm slider from Motosliders.com, from the word on the Sesame street is that it's one of the best sliders around. Sadly the frame slider wouldn't fit my bike, but we'll get to that shortly.

Onto something more interesting:

This took about 15 or so to throw on, the stock Suzuki color matched hugger. Because I'll be riding in the rain once in a while and didn't want to destroy my precious precious paint, I figured it would be a good investment. That and it looks pretty spiffy.

Now what is this?

What a strange nub sticking out of my engine, whatever could it be for

This is quite a lot of instructions, hmm:

Which later proved to be written by retards, but still what?s it for.

Oh 8)

Time to get to work:

While we have all these tools out:

The only thing that was wrong with the bike was it was dropped on it's side, there is a tiny scratch that's not noticeably until pointed out, and the break lever was chipped (just the end bit). Now it's all shiny and new.

So lets see what it all looks like when all said and done:

Starting a Suzuki Gang; we ride to die!

My friend's SV1000. It's a work in progress but still quite the sexy bike.

Lets fire my baby up:

:chin101:

But we still had some energy left, and when you have a dremel at hand and time it's time to get to work:

Ugh, that fender is such an ugly piece of shit. Lets see what we can do.

Safety first

Not bad for free, he'll be getting a hotbody kit soon, but for now this will be fine. He also is getting the cans for Christmas.

After this I finally got a chance to transfer the title to myself (I paid all of $1100 for the bike :jewish: ). I went riding to visit my parents, and no story can be all happy. I was enjoying the new freedom of legally being able to be on the road, license all mounted, registration in the back. I was sitting on a long ramp onto I-5, it was sloped down and I had about 2 miles before I'd be merging. So I braced myself, shifted my weight and twisted the wrist to places it hadn't gone before.

The problem being I didn't realize how quickly a bike can get to it's redline, before I knew it I'm already at 12,000 and in first gear and oh shit the front end is rising, shit shift shift, 2nd, oh shit still 12k, shift shift, k 3rd gear 9k that?s fine but fuck 2 miles are over.

The problem being was how the license was mounted, when I got home I noticed the plate was bent. Upon closer inspection I found this:

Ugh :'(

To fix this, I bent the bracket back and rounded out the edge of the license plate so it wasn't sharp anymore.

But, I can't end this story on a sad note. So here is some blurry pictures of this lady who just happened to be walking by ;)

The end.

That is, quite a story. As for motosliders, they can be made to fit with that handy dremel of yours, but it does require a lil bit of cutting of the fancy pants plastic. I can post some pictures of how it looks with it modified for the motosliders if ya want.

next time just post pics of the chick on the bike, we've seen all that other crap before.

Oh and your boy with the SV1000 has got a lot more cutting to do on that fender.

Ya if you could, that'd be nice. I'm curious to see how it looks, because with the OEM fairing it looks like it would leave a big gaping hole and possibly mess up a larger chunk of the fairing.

It really doesnt look too bad, although I did cut the fairing AFTER I lowsided, so its not like I could make things much worse, and your plastic is spiffy and shiny still.

That doesn't look to shabby, what I think I might do is let the 'meh' slider on there right now do some of its work, I don't ride too aggressivly so hopefully won't be dropping the bike anytime soon. Most likely I'll get another type of slider after I sell off the motoslider.

The thing is, that slider on there now, won't do poopy. The bracket that holds it there will bend if not snap, which in turn cracks the plastic cause it pulls it inwards. Id know :-[. It sure does look better and it is easier than cutting the plastic, but as long as ya know ahead of time that it doesnt give nearly as much protection as motosliders. Either just cut it and put the sliders on, or just shrug it off and make your best attempt to ride safe and avoid any mishaps.
