I can relate, but not associate. The Mustangs always made a bunch of fuel pump noise (whining or humming) before the pump went out. Might be a week, might be a year.
The pump on my 03 sv650s with 21K makes a good amount of noise but no problems. I think they're just plain loud pumps.
