Just wondering what you first gen owners get for fuel mileage?  Ive got an 01 SV650S and just got 40 mpg, it is bone stock.  Also If I get a full system and perform the snorkelectomy and get the proper jetting figured out for my application do you think my mileage would go up or down?  Thanks for any replies. :)

I got 50 before I went -1 in the front. Now I get around 45. Do a search; there are many threads where mileage was discussed. With a freer exhaust and proper jetting your fuel mileage will decrease slightly due to the increased fuel flow.

40 around town (wailing on the beast). 50 on the highway.

p.s. With those upgrades your mileage will go down.

Average: 50-55 mpg; lower with just commuting miles (idling in traffic makes for horrid mileage) higher when slabbing...

I have to say that whe I jetted mine, the milage didn't go down slightly, it went down SUBSTANTIALLY, from 48-50  to 35-38, a 16t front sprocket brought it back up to 38-40

how are you guys checking it?

what I do:

1.Fill up.
2. reset tripmeter to 0
3. ride till in need of another fillup
4. fill up again
5. divide the tripmeter reading by the amount of gas pumped into it to get your gas mileage.

46 MPG    w/ M4 full PCIII, TRE, 15/46 gearing, and a anxious right hand.
How do you get a PCIII to operate on a carbureted bike? This thread is specific to first gen bikes.

Before setup:

16/48, TBR CF pipe, stock air filter, DJ needle and jets (138/18, IIRC) = 45 mpg

After setup:

15/46, TBR CF pipe, desnorkeled, DJ needle (changed clip), same DJ pilot, Mikuni 152.5 mains, 2.75 turns = 40 mpg

On a 2000 SV650.
