Hi all. I've been trying to find out what my options are to replace those bulky front turn signals for an '08 naked 650. i've been searching this site and google and i can't seem to come up with anything promising. I've heard of people replacing them with buells or late model gixxers. I personally like the cat-eye look with a clear cover. Please post a pic of what aftermarket turn signals you have and how much modification was necessary.

Basically every aftermarket signal will be less visible than the OEM. At night pretty much anything shows up well. You are planning to use stalks not flush mounts, correct? I will post a pic of my signals mounted on my forks.

The LEDs show up pretty well during the day and really well at night.
I have yet to find an LED that measures up to the bulbs combined with good reflectors (like the OEM).

yes, stalks since i havent seen very clean looking flush mounts for nekkids. but if you have a creative, good, clean looking flush mount that works by all means post.

I have incandescent (not LED) cat eyes and they work pretty darn well for what they are. not as bright as the stockers, but still not bad.

I believe they are lockhart phillips brand.

i do like that signal. since i have the stock speedo and headlight unit, i might be able to put that in the place of the oem in the stock location, correct? if so, how hard is the install? any drilling, wiring etc?

yes, it will go in the stock location. you will have to splice the wires in. The recommended way would be to solder the wires together and cover with heat shrink.

I bought my Motrax from Cycle Gear for $16. Cut off the plugs off the stock signals and soldered them on the new signals and plugged them in. The signals mounted basically them same as the stock signals to the headlight bracket.

i like. except i can't seem to find those on cycle gear. it's hard to tell from the pictures.

I have the same signals as Lost1888, but with an amber lens as opposed to iridium. They're Motrax Mini-Arrow short-stalk black/amber signals purchased from Cycle Gear for under $20/pair. They are BRIGHTER than factory! Almost obnoxious at night...

I just took mine off. IMHO it's the best look.

You'll want to check your state law, but here in Michigan they aren't required. If you have 'em, they have to work, and you have to use them......but you don't have to have 'em. For over thirty-five years, they have been one of the first things to hit the scrap box upon arrival home with every new bike.

i have a question....i have a second gen and im most likely gonna go with integrated mirrors for front turn signals.....now i know someone(cant remember who) sells the little plates that are color matched to fill the hole where the stock ones go....so does any one know who that is or if not....does anyone know some company that sells something the same/similar?

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me...

I hope I did this right. This is my first time posting pics. These are LEDs and are super bright, especially at night. They came with the bike.

What's the deal with needing relay/resistor for LEDs? What is the purpose? (serious question)

it slows the flash rate down..since the bike went from regular bulbs to leds the flash rate goes higher(not completely sure why). if they dont flash like super fast like as if one of them were out or something then the person b4 u probably already put it in
