I'm not usually one to toot my own horn, but I figured this might be of interest to the forum. Thanks to some dumb luck, my SV found itself on the front page of my local newspaper last week. Click on the image for a bigger version.

Those with sharp eyes will note that there's actually two SV's in the pic. The poor sap whose license plate was printed for all to see... yup, that's the ass end of a 2nd gen SV650s.

congrats! that's pretty cool, especially since you're showing how it should be done...ATGATT.
Way cool, is there a link to the rest of the article?
Thats awesome! I'm originally from Salem but all of my family now lives in Corvallis. Unfortunately the Air Force sent me to NJ :( I want to move back sooo badly!
Lots better than making the news as a casualty.
Did you know they were coming to take the pic that day?

Nope. The reporter contacted the group in the morning and asked for some interviews. I'm pretty sure I got the pic because I was the only one who rode to work in the rain that day. ;D The photographer and reporter caught me after I came back to work after lunch.
John Updike died?

Congrats for being on the front page. ATGATT FTW!!!!!

that's a great pic...congratulations...and the article was interesting.
very cool

Good representation for two-wheeled transportation. Thanks for being willing to participate in such an article.
Congrats, I wish many followed suit and drove safe without being speed demons.

I hate when people take everyone for granted and when you mention you drive a motorcycle they link you to usual stereotypes.

Anyway, no matter what people say or think, I also plan to use my SV for regular commuting and will be a safe law abiding citizen!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those "safety nazis" who has to let everyone within earshot know the "right" way to ride. However, I do reserve the right to think less of you if you exhibit hoon behavior. ;)

Biker stereotypes is one of the reasons why WITW has a safe mileage award in the first place. We want to show folks that yes, you can ride a motorcycle safely. How often do we see headlines that begin with "Motorcyclist dies..." How come they never print "Driver kills motorcyclist"?
