I'd like to use the Gen I lowers to keep the proper front fender but I have some really nice Gen II forks with the adjustable preload caps so I'd like to use the upper tubes and innards...
Anyone done this?
Thanx.

i know the gen2 caps should fit in the gen1 tubes... and that way you don't have to separate the uppers/lowers.
The seals are trash on the Gen I forks and the Gen II forks have about 100 miles on them, compared to 34,000 on the Gen I forks. I'd like to use the newer parts as much as possible.
I planned on separating the legs anyway...
Thanx for the input.

I don't think they'll work. Showa's vs KYB's. If the legs don't have nicks, just get some new seals. It'll cost you around $50 for all four seals. THen resell the Gen 2 forks and make some money.

Ah... The old 'Showa vs KYB compatability issue' :tard:
Darn, I was hoping this would be easy. Just slam the legs and lowers apart, swap lowers and knock the seals into place.
C'est la vie...
Thanx.
