Got my fork oil seal in and when lifting the stanchion it popped out of its spot (before snapping the retainer in). Is this normal or is my lower shot? Lowering the stanchion just slotted it back in perfectly without the need to drive it again. I did grease both inside and out, was just curious if I need a new lower.

The snap ring should keep the seal in place? Not sure I understand?

It does, just wasn't sure if it being able to slide out as easily as it did without the snap ring meant the fork lower was too wide to give a proper seal. Only reason I asked was cause it didn't happen on the other fork.
