Fluctuating Temp

Sorry if this has been asked before, I looked through FAQ and tried the search and didn't find my answer. My bike is working fine, its not overheating or anything. What I am curious to know is if a constant fluctuation in the indicated temp is normal. While riding my temp will rise to about 190 then back down to 174, then slowly climbs back up to 190 then back down. It always does this, just back and forth. In traffic it goes higher, fan kicks on when it should and temp never goes over 210. So I know Im operating in the right range, just wondered if everyone else's fluctuates this way. Thanks in advance
