I bought an 06 sv650s when I was 16. It only had 8k miles on it, but the plastics were very poorly painted, and the tank and fuel pump were a rust nightmare. I am 17 now and just recently finished fixing my sv up. I still have a couple small things to do, but the major things are taken care of.
it was white when i bought it, the bike was missing multiple parts from the first picture when i bought it.
I repainted the bike in my garage over the winter with spray paint. It came out decent I would say, nothing professional, but it looks a lot better than it did when i first got it.

Some things I have done to the bike:

New front fender, bike did not come with one
New front brake fluid reserve, old one was leaking
Acid dip the whole tank
Rebuild/deep clean fuel pump
Figured out I have a GSXR fuel pump
Bought new mirrors, bike did not come with them
Reflective rim tape
Tank grip
Slip on Delkevic exhaust
Gold aluminum bolt kit
Install new grips
New headlight/running-light bulbs
Complete repaint of the bike

I am sure there are a couple other things i have done to it. Anything else i do i will update on this build thread

I got rid of the bar end mirrors and got some oem style ones. I also put some handle bar ends on.

I put some new rear sets on since the oem ones were bent and cracked. They are just Chinese Ebay parts, but they worked pretty well today. Had to fabricate a part for the rear brake light spring. Also had to drill out the holes a little bigger to mount them. The bike is finally road ready since it has a shifter now!
