CHECK OUT this, the first pictures of the all-new Honda VTR250.

Currently, there's no details from Honda about the latest pictures, but it's clear that the hugely popular little bike has been given a pretty major make-over for this year.

The motor is still a 90 degree, liquid-cooled V-twin with 4-valves per cylinder but for 2009 apparently gets an improved fuel injection PGM-FI system. Because of the new system the airbox has had to be moved under the petrol tank to keep the bike slim.

The trellis frame stays with the new bike while things like wheels and brakes stay the same as last year's Japan-only model.

Despite looking like traditional units, the dash and instruments are completely digital and by moving the pillion seat up on the subframe the new VTR is reported to have lots of underseat storage in an effort to steer some of the Japanese market away from Super Scooters which dominate the 250 sector.

The new bike will come in silver, red, black, blue and yellow and is likely to make the trip to Europe next autumn.

And the 250 Ninja, takes another victory lap around america!
Exactly. The 250 is Kawasaki's biggest selling street bike every year. The new one even sold out in it's first year. Yet no one challenges them. Foolish of them to ignore those potential buyers.

What a terrible article, "All new" at the top then "It keeps the same frame and engine, and has the wheels off the old JDM model". So, it's the old one with FI, new clocks and a different tail. Big woos. Nice wee bikes though.

that bike looks awesome. like the new ninja, it's probably the perfect starter bike without looking the part. i feel like too many starter bikes (old ninja, gs500f, and all the 125-250 mini cruisers) just scream n00b.

You'd be surprised. Non-riders see you on a ninja250 and they will still compliment you. They don't know the difference. I got a couple of handfuls of comments from non riders while on the 250 the year I had it.

One look at the rear tire and the exhaust pipe will let you know what's under all that plastic. ;D
