Pulled the carb again. Realigned bowl orings cause it was dumping gas and resprayed and blew out everything again, added k&n fuel filter. Got that taken care of fired it right up. Idled good. Revved good. No backfiring. Revved a couple more times noticed the rpm decided to stay at 2k this time. Also look down and noticed smoke what looked like the header pipe connection, before that there was a bit of dark liquid dripping from it that stopped after a second or two. Looking closer looks like it might be coming from the area in the image. Hard to tell, nothing obvious seen. Thought maybe i started leaking oil. And the rpm wanted to stay at 2k now so I adjusted the idle cable and that solved the rpm issue. Doesn't start smoking right away even when engine warm, takes a min to start. White starts faint snd then alowly builds up.
