I signed up yesterday. I don't "get" it.

give it time. Poke around and search for the names of your old friends.
Yeah, it took months for me to really get into using it. Now I use it to keep up with peeps I haven't seen in a decade or more.
I use it as a way to keep in touch with several groups of friends at once, and for that, it's handy.

I ignore like 99% of the applications though, and I definitely am not fond of the layout or interface.
Do a search of SVhaver group. You'll find a bunch of us there.
I didn't like the people in high school then. Why would I feel any differently now?
I didn't really either, but I'm not still friends with many people from back then. It's not just for schools anymore.
The friends I had back then, I never lost contact with.

And the last thing I need to do is let everyone on the planet know every stupid little thing I do.

Blog Entry for February 12th, 2009:

Today I went to work a little earlier
than normal. I don't know why. Sometimes
I do that. hahaha... lol! :p I talked
to my parents last night too.. they're
soooo annoying sometimes. lol.
Anyway, I came home from work and
stopped at the store on the way
home and picked up some chicken
and ramen noodles. I save a bunch
of money! lol. :p I went home
and took a 10 minute nap and
then updated my facebook, myspace
and 3 other social networking
sites because i want to pretend like
people give a crap about every
tiny aspect of my life! lol
tonight i'll probably blog more.
lol :p Maybe look up some
people I knew from back in
the day that didn't want to
be my real friends, but I
bet they want to be on
my buddy list now. LOL! :p

This completely sums up my thoughts on facebook.
If I havent remained friends with you throughout the years after high-school, why would I make an attempt to maintain contact with you now? ???
I thought I'd use it to keep in contact with classmates. Then I realized I'm also one who wasnt friends with people back then and I'd rather not start now.

So I use(d) it to hook up with highschool girlfriends and talk sh!t with my buddies overseas since its often their main form of communication.
You could do like a local cop did here... use it to brag about how you harass local people by pulling them over for stupid stuff, and badmouth certain groups of people/races/sexes.
I've found that as we've all matured, people that I wasnt friends with in high school I have become friends with now, through initial re-contact on facebook. I used to say it was stupid also, until I tried it.

Another +1 to Dackler & Surveyor on this. I got 'talked' into signing up. I never go on there anymore. It's annoying as hell. Especially when dochebags from work send buddy/pal/requests or whatever the hell you call it. I hate working with you, why the f--- would I wanna socialize with you outside of work??

That's myspace, not facebook.

I've got a large number of cousins and friends spread all over the country. It is a convenient way to keep track of everybody without taking the time to actually talk to them

Both are guilty of such. I think it depends more on what kind of people are your friends than anything else.
I saw Brad there.... Suzanne found me and ShaneB and Zach (but that's a gimmie because he's watching Suzanne) and a few others.

Oh and it's more fun for keeping in touch with family that I don't see but once in a blue moon.

I found a group called SV riders.
i tried to friend Lance but he ignored me.
