From what I understand "dogbones" raise or lower your seat height by raising or lowering the suspension. If you're lowering you suspension, doesn't that give you less clearance on your lean? What is up with this modification? And why do people do it?

Some people do it because they are short, and cant reach the ground. Some do it for looks. I raised mine for lean angle and sharper handling.

The real reason for using lowering dogbones is for drag racing. That's their intended purpose.

Not many drag an SV, so a lot of times people use GSXR 600 links and such.

Secondarily - people use them to lower the bike so they can touch better.
