2001 Suzuki SV650
Took my carbs out yesterday for a full cleaning and gasket replacement. Checked the TPS while I was in there and found that there’s no change in resistance with throttle movement. The baseline reading is within spec but the 20 year old sensor isn’t more than a standard resistor at this point. I’ve seen some conflicting posts on the site about the usefulness of the TPS on a carbureted bike. I’d like to avoid spending $100 on a new one but if it’s necessary to keep the bike running smoothly I’ll bite the bullet. What are everyone’s thoughts?
