Everyone knows that buzz when you turn the bike to on. I'm fairly certain it's the fuel pump. I've always waited for it to stop before starting it up. does it matter?
i've gotten into the routine of turning the key and while it's priming, i put my helmet on and make sure my gear is zippered/velcro-ed comfortably, then start her up.
I never wait for my bike or cars, never had any problems. Yes the fuel pump is priming, but its only going to take an extra milisecond for the engine to fire up.
The priming doesn't mean there isn't "pressure" in the fuel system- the second you turn the key the fuel pump is adding pressure, and thus giving it fuel to run, whether it "primed" or not...
