Same as title, Do 06-07 gsxr 600 lower triple and forks compatible with an 04-05 600 top triple clamp?

I could search but im in the middle of making the buy and he may not have an 06-07 top clamp.

You should try that Greg Li Blogspot chart, maybe that will help. I think you can Googleit.
Oh and if any one knows if any 04+ gsxr top triple fits with an 06-07 gsxr 600 lower triple and forks let me know.

Im looking at that chart now and it appears the "triple clamp bottom fork diameter" is 1 mm smaller on the 06-07 600. Dont really know what that means.

The 04-05 600 top triple would work but the steering stem hole on that triple is smaller than the 06-07 lower triple stem.

Otherwise yes. You can get it and drill it out if you so choose. I think LScycling did that.
general rule of thumb is to keep the top and lower triple of the same year. This is because of slight changes to the designs over the years. Personally I am using 2002 gsxr 1000 top and bottom triples with 2006 GSXR 1000 forks and have no issues.
K...looks like its a mute issue. I am buying lower and forks from and 06/07 gsxr 600 for my sv conversion. I suppose I'll just buy the upper some where else. I looked around for maybe an hour and found plenty of them around. So it shouldn't be an issue finding one cheap.

I was originally asking because the guy selling the bottom end also had 04/05 upper clamp...

Get an 05/06 1000 clamp - it will work better than the 06+ 600/750 top clamp
If you use the latter, it will cause the ignition to intefere on left side of frame.

Not being a smarta$$, but the word is 'moot' ;D
pmed ya with a question decosse
Replied with pics and details of ignition mod

The ignition mounts require a very slight mod to slot the holes in the brackets.
They need to be a little closer together (needs about 1mm inboard on either side) and additionally also extended to position the ignition further away from the head.
The ignition will be very close to the steering head so you need to be sure you give that additional clearance by moving a little further out. after you assemble the top clamp with the ignition on the forks/steering stem, make sure you have some clearance between the ignition & the frame steering head. You don't want that jamming on you!

This is my TL ignition, but the slots are virtually identical: you can see the one on the left has been slotted 'down' & 'in' from the photo perspective. The right one is shown unmodified for comparison but obviously is done similarly.
A rat-tail file is best tool for the job here - just take a few seconds.

Hey Stamford,

I live very close to you and have done this swap on my SV. I also used to ride with you about a year back. Track days now consume most of my riding time.

Shoot me a PM if you want to swing by sometime and take a look or need some help. I didn't even realize you posted over here.
