Hello all.
I'm a new member and have a quick question about a 2004 sv650 that I'm considering buying.

The owner sent me a picture that shows the LCD speedometer. It isn't very clear, but next to the trip odometer reading there are the letters "CHEC". Sounds like some sort of error message. The owner said that it always shows that when the bike isn't running, and that he took the picture with the key on but the bike not started.

Does this sound right???
This is a long distance purchase, and I really want to be careful.
thanks for any help you can provide.
Best regards,
Mikemo

i believe my 03 shows the chec message when the engine is not running, but key is on and kill switch is in the "dead" position.

i'm only about 90% sure. i could confirm tonight when i ride.

Yeah thats normal. It will say CHEC if the key is turned and its in gear and the engine is not on. The CHEC goes off once the fuel injection pump primes.

Post the picture.

Mine does it too. Once the bike is started, the CHEC is replaced by the engine temp.
