Hello,

I ordered a Viper exhaust and the mid pipe did not fit. They are sending me another one at a discounted price...

They want to know the diameter of the oem pipe what is cut and the mid pipe slides over. Does anyone know this off hand?

Well when you are at work and 99% of all internet sites are blocked searching is not much of an option...

Why must people feel the need to comment with useless information?

Sorry, that would be my bad.... because I totally knew you were at work, and figured that if you can get onto SVRIDER that Google must surely be blocked.

and yeah, it's totally useless. Sorry about that Furious George.

yeah google is pretty good for the conversion of metric to yank [email protected]$tard measure :nana:

google "XC in F" and I get the right conversion..... it is freakin amazing... it works for cm to inch or other measures too...

Ummm.... 2.5 inch x 25.4mm/inch = 63.5mm

Maybe get yourself a conversion calculator???

This works well enough for me

Funny I was just measuring the pipe on my '01 today and it is 2 1/8 (2.125) inches. Where it's out of round I get .025 additional inches with the calipers, making it still under 2 5/32 (2.1562) at the most. (actual measurements were 2.125 to 2.150).

I was having a similar issue with finding the correct link pipe for a silencer.

How'd you get 2 1/2 inches Mr. Woodchuck? I know the '03 is larger, could that be it?

The silencer company I was talking to had never tried using the link pipe from an '04 onto a 1st gen, but they say the diameter is correct, so it's the angle that's still in question. For them... someone else here might know.

The mid-pipe ID is 2.5" that slides over the stock collector with the muffler cut off on a first gen. This is what my M4 mid-pipe ID is and what the stock collector OD is.

Not sure what you are getting.

I just checked mine real quick again. I got 2.5"

Seems to me, that most mid pipes for I-4's are around 2" and twins are around 2.5"

Maybe I have a one of those weird first gen's... :dontknow:

Ok I'm confused now. I just returned a silencer and it's midpipe/ link pipe was the right ID for my OD, which is 2 1/8 inches.

I just double checked my measurements and they're still the same :)

Either way it probably doesn't matter to our friend here as he's probably figured out his situation already. I'm going to call around to see if maybe I have the wrong exhaust.. I am the second owner.

I brought my mid pipe to a muffler shop and they made it a bit larger in diameter and it slipped right on...

Here's a pic...
