What exhaust sealant are you guys talking about? I just went to Fremont Cycle Salvage to pick some up and the guy had no idea what I was talking about. He said it would be fine without it because the pipe goes "this (hands apart) far" in... and that he's never used anything on slipons.

I asked him about exhaust leaks and he said there shouldn't be any.

Edit: Found it. ULTRA COPPER :D

tough to say... but i'm not too crazy with the "cackle" like sound on either end of the throttle.. it does have a nice sound other than that..

if you want... you can hear the delk live with mine... if you and i are good now?;)
Ohhh! I'm sure you 2 are!!! Hug it out!
it's the internets... we're all friends here!;D

After having broken in the stubby delk for a couple months now I have noticed it has gotten louder. I disabled the PAIR system and took out the baffle again and have noticed it no longer gets that much louder. I like it now just fine without the baffle, with maybe only a very slightly and barely noticable loss of torque on the low end.

Just some observations.

i am also monitoring my 'kilometerage' to see any loss of km's... i usually get 220-230 km on the stock but noticed that my last fill up was around 200... but then again, I've been doing more 'city' riding this past month than my usual riding routines which is normally backroads..

i need more data to confirm.. anyone noticed or kept track of their mileage since adding your delk?

Is anyone bothered by the thought that using the slip on, especially without the baffle, causes the bike to run leaner than it did with the stock exhaust?

I know that plenty of people install slipons without remapping and have no problems... but LEAN still bothers me.

No, a fender eliminator is. :p
SNAP!

I don't know though... the fender doesn't bother me as much as that banana can did. And now I can barely see it with the light that's reflected off this shiny new muffler :D

Installing a fender eliminator with the stock exhaust still on would make that sucker stick out even more.

I have one of dubtecv2's sitting here, just waiting until after my trip to install it. Belly pan in the mail. Then she'll be set.

so... today, I appeared to have lost my baffle in my travels today... Before I left today, I even tightend the nut below.. but still lost it.. Anyone else experience this? I kind of would like it back.. Anyone willing to part with theirs if they are not using theirs?:(

I still would like it to help keep some of the noise down in my quiet neighborhood when I know I will be back late at nights..

I finally put the replacement muffler on. Works flawlessly  . Again, I can't stress how well Delkevic US handled the issues I had. Excellent peoples.

Also, I finally got rid of that fender and added a rear tire hugger ;D . New pics will soon follow.

welcome to the delkevic family... weren't you worried about running lean?

;)
I was, and still am... I was talking about slipons in general. Temps seem to be okay though. I'm definitely not taking the baffle out, probably worry myself to death. ;)

One thing that also worries me is that I get no popping or backfiring at all with PAIR still enabled. Which means less unburnt fuel in the exhaust... which means that I'm probably running more lean than the rest of you. Or maybe it was rich before and now its spot on. Who knows.
