I used the round rocker switch Symtec offers and drilled my top triple. But I think you said once before you didn't like the idea of drilling the triple.

I guess I should ad I used the mini switch from Radioshack canyon chasers talks about first, but it died pretty quickly and that's when I went to the round rocker supplied with the heaters.

I used the rocker switch, and put it on the side of the plastic of the cowling in front of the light assembly. Easy drill through looks good, IMO. But I have an 08 so it might be different with the 1st gen.

I am actually leaning toward this idea, I would really like to see a pic if you get a chance. If not that's o.k.

I was contemplating putting in the cylinder style heaters that actually go inside the bar, but decided it would be a mess. If I installed those I wanted to drill through the handlebars, and risers.........but due to the sv setup I decided against it.

I am thinking about drilling into the triple for the switch.

This is what I was considering for mine. Instead, I ended up putting the rocker-switch into a pvc end cap and electrical-taping the crap out of it, it has been hanging since install, it's very annoying when riding.
It was easy just as long as you use a graduated bit. I was worried that it was going to crack no matter what, but it held up. I thought it might not be the easiest to get to, but once I got used to the location I can flip it without having to look for it.
