I've bought a couple dampers off e-bay, and both seem to have quite a bit of air in them. Is this normal? Have I been screwed?

Don't understand the question

You mean steering dampers? What brand/models? Do you mean shocks with reservoirs? In that case that isn't air, it's nitrogen and if you've bled them any you should take them to a shop to have them repressured.

Yes, I mean steering dampers. They are both stock GSXR units, one 600 and one 750. I'm afraid the seals might be shot and letting in air / letting out oil. :(

Mine was the same way - It doesn't seem to matter once its on the bike. Don't know - I guess I would like to know, but I plan on pulling mine soon and putting heavier oil in it.
