Extending that logic to its natural conclusion, there would be no need to wear any PPE, either.
I gave this some more thought and decided i was still right lol.

If you're good you can happily be confident you'll never drop or go down with your bike or at least its so rare of a risk that you're not worried about it.

I wear ppe for when i get smoked by soccer mom in her suburban, in which case the bike is probably a write off anyway.

My bike has been off its tires 3 times. 2 of those times it was traveling exactly 0 miles per hour. I guess I'm just not that good, so I'll protect myself and my bike.

with sliders tho, not a crash cage lol. I dumped my SV on its side a couple days ago  Have a cheap rear stand and i guess it wasn't under the spools on both sides. It's a race bike tho so all i did was break a stock clutch lever, **** happens but i'm still a newb sometimes too! I just dont worry about it, altho the race bike definitely has sliders.

Renntec engine bars are available from http://revsperformance.com/renntec/engine_bars.htm Scroll down to Suzuki SV650and pick appropriate year/model. Coming from a DL650, I prefer bars over sliders, but hopefully I won't need either.:)
that doesn't look like a very strong setup

One tipover and that rear part will bend and make contact with the frame. Assuming it doesn't just break/snap off @ that point. Same with the forward top mounting tab.

I've looked at the renntec bars (and rear rack which looks awesome) and wondered how well they would work. Are there any other brands? I have motosliders installed and sometimes I'll hang my knees over them on a long ride. How practical would it be to have highway pegs on a SV with these bars?

...CvFactor, what bar/peg setup do you have? Looks interesting.
